She was a tutor at the Fresno City College Tutorial Center and is a Teaching Associate at Cal Poly where she has taught introduction to Organismal Form & Function, Introduction to Cellular & Molecular Biology and Introduction to Biology for non-science majors. She holds a B.S. in Biological Sciences and is working on a M.S. in Biology with her research focusing on stress protein abundance in marine mussels. When she’s not in the lab, Alexandra loves traveling, drawing & painting and dancing salsa. Her artwork was recently featured in a Cal Poly art journal (Intertidal No.1). Last summer, she went on a trip to Italy and was excited to see so many famous works of art (Statue of David, Pieta, The Birth of Venus, Sistine Chapel etc.) She also went to Ireland with her family, and found the gravesite of her great-great-great grandfather with the help of a genealogist!
